September 21-28, 2027

This Scandinavian journey brings together the best of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway in one seamless, adventure-filled itinerary. From Copenhagen’s colorful canals and historic palaces to Stockholm’s island-dotted waterways and Viking heritage, and onward to Oslo’s fjords, fortresses, and vibrant waterfront districts, each day reveals a new layer of Northern Europe’s culture and natural beauty. Traveling by air, rail, ferry, and on foot, we experience these iconic capitals in a way that blends comfort with discovery—balancing must-see landmarks with authentic local moments. It’s a thoughtfully curated exploration of three distinct countries, connected by their shared Nordic spirit and unforgettable landscapes.

  • Arrival in Copenhagen—Canals, Culture & First Impressions

Arrive at Copenhagen Airport by 1:00 PM, where our journey begins with a group transfer to our hotel in the heart of the city. After check-in, enjoy a leisurely afternoon discovering the charm of Copenhagen. Stroll through the colorful waterfront district of Nyhavn, lined with historic buildings and lively cafés, then experience the city from the water on a scenic canal cruise. We’ll cap off our first day together with dinner, the perfect start to our Scandinavian adventure.

    Overnight: Admiral Hotel, Copenhagen

  • Northbound by Rail—Scenic Tracks to Stockholm’s Old Town

Day 2 begins with a leisurely breakfast before we board a mid-morning train for a scenic journey to Stockholm. Sit back and enjoy the changing Nordic landscapes as we travel to Sweden’s elegant capital, arriving in the early to mid-afternoon. After checking into our hotel, we’ll step into the storybook charm of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s enchanting Old Town, where cobblestone lanes, colorful 17th-century buildings, and hidden courtyards create an unforgettable atmosphere. We’ll visit Stortorget, the city’s oldest square and the historic heart of Stockholm since 1252. Along the way, you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the area’s inviting cafés or restaurants, with favorites including Restaurant Järnet and the beloved Grillska Huset.

Two nights: Home Hotel, Wellington in Stockholm

  • Djurgården Discovery—Islands, Vikings & Living History

Today’s adventure centers on Djurgården, Stockholm’s beautiful island oasis, home to many of the city’s most celebrated museums, galleries, and attractions. For an authentic local experience, we’ll travel like Stockholmers do—by commuter ferry. Departing from Slussen, the bustling transit hub near Old Town, we’ll cruise across the water to Djurgården while taking in some of the finest views of Stockholm’s historic skyline and waterfront.

Our highlight of the day is the extraordinary Vasa Museum, one of Scandinavia’s most remarkable cultural treasures. Here, you’ll come face to face with the Vasa, the world’s only fully preserved 17th-century ship, which famously sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and was recovered from the harbor in 1961. Seeing this massive vessel suspended before you is an unforgettable moment. Engaging exhibits, artifacts, and films bring to life the dramatic story of its construction, sinking, and painstaking restoration.

We’ll then continue our journey into the past at the must-visit Viking Museum, an immersive and highly interactive experience that brings the age of the Vikings vividly to life. Filled with spectacle, adventure, and fascinating insight, this museum offers a fresh perspective on the legendary seafarers and challenges many common myths about Viking culture. Whether you’re a devoted history enthusiast or simply curious, the museum’s dynamic storytelling and engaging design make it a memorable highlight for all ages.

  • Flight to Oslo—Fjords, Fortresses & Waterfront Explorations

Today we take a short and scenic flight from Stockholm to Oslo, continuing our Nordic journey with ease and comfort. After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport and arrive in Norway’s vibrant capital by midday. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and set out for a relaxed afternoon exploring the city’s beautiful waterfront. Our walk leads us to Aker Brygge, Oslo’s iconic harbor district, known for its modern architecture, lively atmosphere, and striking views across the fjord.

This bustling area is perfect for an unhurried stroll, with inviting shops, contemporary art galleries, and a wide selection of cafés and restaurants. Whether you choose to sit outdoors with a coffee, enjoy a casual bite, or simply wander along the promenade, Aker Brygge offers an effortless blend of city life and waterfront serenity.

We’ll end the day with a visit to the nearby Akershus Fortress, just a short walk from the harbor. This historic medieval castle, dating back to the 13th century, is one of Oslo’s most treasured landmarks. Its ancient stone walls, peaceful grounds, and sweeping views over the fjord create a striking contrast to the modern city below. With free access to explore at your own pace, it’s an atmospheric and memorable way to wind down the day. If timing allows, we’ll linger for sunset, when the light over the water and fortress is especially beautiful, before heading into downtown Oslo for dinner at one of the city’s many excellent restaurants.

Two nights: Home Hotel, Gabelhaus, Oslo

  • From Viking Ships to Royal Streets: A Day Across Oslo’s Past and Present

In the morning, we’ll head to the harbor and take a scenic ferry ride across the water to the Bygdøy Peninsula, often called Oslo’s “museum island.” This cultural hub is home to some of Norway’s most fascinating museums, all set in a peaceful, waterfront environment that makes for a truly memorable start to the day.

Here we’ll explore the acclaimed Fram Museum, dedicated to Norway’s legendary polar expeditions. Standing beside the original Fram ship is a powerful experience, and the museum’s thoughtful exhibits bring to life the courage and ambition behind these historic Arctic and Antarctic journeys. We’ll also visit the Kon-Tiki Museum, which celebrates Thor Heyerdahl’s daring Pacific expedition across the ocean on a handcrafted raft—an inspiring story of exploration and human determination.

After our return from Bygdøy, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch by the harbor, where casual cafés and waterfront seating offer the perfect setting to unwind and watch the boats drift by.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue exploring central Oslo on foot. Our walk begins at Oslo Cathedral, a peaceful and historic landmark in the heart of the city, before continuing to Stortorvet, Oslo’s main square. From there, we stroll along Karl Johans Gate, the city’s lively main avenue lined with cafés, shops, and elegant historic buildings. Along the way, we’ll pass Stortinget, Norway’s Parliament, set beside the green spaces of Stortingsparken. Our route naturally leads us toward the majestic Royal Palace and its surrounding gardens—an ideal place for a leisurely walk and a fitting finale to a day filled with culture, history, and Nordic charm.

  • Return to Copenhagen—Gardens, Towers & City Views

This morning we fly back to Copenhagen, where our journey first began, returning for another day and a half in the heart of Denmark’s vibrant capital. After arrival and hotel check-in, we’ll set out to explore some of the city’s most distinctive landmarks. Wander through the tranquil beauty of Botanisk Have, a lush botanical garden oasis in the middle of the city, before ascending the iconic Round Tower for sweeping views over Copenhagen’s historic skyline. We’ll continue to Christiansborg Tower, the highest viewpoint in the city, offering a striking panorama that brings the Danish capital into full perspective—an inspiring way to reconnect with Copenhagen from above and within.

    Two nights: The Admiral Hotel

  • Copenhagen Finale—Icons, Fortresses & Tivoli Magic

We’ll dedicate our final full day in Copenhagen to experiencing the very best the city has to offer. Our journey begins with a visit to the iconic Little Mermaid sculpture, followed by a walk through the star-shaped Kastellet Fortress, one of Europe’s best-preserved military fortifications. We’ll admire the stunning Marble Church with its grand dome and elegant interiors before continuing to Christiansborg Palace, the political heart of Denmark, rich with royal history and architectural grandeur. To close our adventure, we’ll step into the enchantment of Tivoli Gardens, where historic charm, beautiful gardens, and lively atmosphere create a fittingly magical finale to our Copenhagen experience.

  • Farewell Scandinavia—Safe Travels Home

On our final morning, we’ll provide a comfortable transfer back to Copenhagen Airport for your journey home. As we say goodbye, you’ll carry with you unforgettable memories of Nordic cities, coastal views, historic landmarks, and shared adventures across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway—a journey well traveled and a story still unfolding long after departure.
