Tyrol, Austria - The Dolomites

September 11-17, 2022

  • Arrive in Innsbruck, Austria

Group arrives in Innsbruck, Austria, and checks into our hotel for the week on Sunday, September 11. Plan to arrive by 3 p.m. for check-in at Aqua Dome Hotel. Breakfast and Dinner are included in our stay. Packed lunches will be prepared by the chef for our daily treks.

The Aqua Dome Spa and Hotel sit high in the Austrian Alps in a granite-walled valley. The area is well known for its cross-country skiing but this is not the main reason you visit: far greater things await you because this is one of the most luxurious spas in the world.

Three outdoor pools are full of glacial water that has been filtered by the mountain and heated by the planetary fires deep within the Earth’s crust. While you take a revitalizing soak in the mineral waters you can admire your Alpine surroundings.

Indulge in culinary delights and make yourself comfortable in one of the over 200 rooms and suites: natural materials, an abundance of wood, and warm shades make you feel comfortable and relaxed in the modern alpine ambiance. Immerse your senses in elemental beauty and revitalize your body and soul

  • Nordic Walking - Längenfeld

Längenfeld at 1173 m above sea level, is cozily embedded in a 30 km long plain right at the heart of the Ötztal. Some 110 kilometers of signposted routes offer everything an outdoor fan’s heart could possibly desire. Thanks to its Alpine setting at 1173 m the area makes an ideal place for smooth high altitude training. Walking through lush green meadows and shady forests, you restore new energies!

  • Ötztal Nature Park

Awe-inspiring glaciers, colorful larch forests, and idyllic mountain lakes - these are just a few of the many impressions that we all associate with the Ötztal: at the same time it is a landscape worth protecting that attracts myriad visitors from around the globe.

As Austria’s third-largest nature preserve, the Ötztal Nature Park covers an area of more than 510 square kilometers – there is no other protected area that has a larger glacier-covered surface (about 18%) in all of Austria.

Among the characteristics are large glacier fields, natural history studies, and research on high Alpine archeology.

Theme trails focusing on high Alpine archeology, glaciology, or fauna and flora in the stone pine forest are areas that we will explore as a group with our guide.

  • Brand and Burgstein Plateaus

Brand and Burgstein, two sun-kissed Alpine plateaus, will remind you of bird‘s nests as they tower 200 meters above the valley floor. Superb panorama, significant rest stop areas. Recently linked by a spectacular Suspension Bridge. A loop trail of extraordinary natural beauty full of contrasts and new perspectives.

  • Piburgersee (Lake Piburger See)

Can a mountain lake be even more beautiful? Whoever wants to describe Lake Piburg will sooner or later end up with the word “idyllic”. Embedded in a valley above Oetz, the clear green water reflects the surrounding forests and the mighty Acherkogel. Nature lovers, hikers, and swimmers can recharge their batteries at this place of power. Because you have to guard such a treasure, Lake Piburger See is one of the oldest nature reserves in Tyrol.
