Paris & the Normandy Beaches

80th Anniversary of the Allied Troops landing in Normandy

We had such fun in Paris in 2023 that we decided to go again in the spring of 2024! But with a twist. We will start in Paris, staying in a boutique hotel in Montmartre for three days. Lots of free time with optional walks with Chuck to the iconic cemetery, Pere Lachaise, and around the steep hills by Sacre Coeur. Then, we’re off to the coast, the Brittany and Normandy coasts! Staying in the idyllic seaside town of St. Malo, we’ll take a day trip to everyone’s favorite, Mont St Michel, and to that star of the region for Americans, The Invasion Beaches of Normandy. We will spend time at the American Cemetery and along the coast at various spots that were key to the invasion. We will also visit the seaside town of Deauville. On returning to Paris, on Saturday, we will stop at charming Honfleur another seaside resort on the coast of Normandy. Later that day we will drive back to Paris for our final night before heading home!

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

Join us this coming July as we walk the most beautiful sections of the Pembrokeshire Coastal path in Wales with our nature guide, Andy Bunten. We’ll meet in London and take a train from Paddington Station to Swansea, where we’ll be picked up and driven to the coast. Five days of walking will allow us to discover and explore the charms of one of the world’s most beautiful paths. Cliffs, coves, and castles await, as do some of the coziest fishing villages in all of Great Britain. We’ll return by train to London for a full day of guided tours. Due to limited accommodations, we’ll keep this group small. (Limit of 12 guests.)

Walking the Veneto and Dolomites

We'll arrive in Venice and head to "The Little Dolomites" for two days of spectacular walking in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. From there, we head to Cortina to walk in the "Big" Dolomites, hiking the famous "Three Chimneys" trail, Lake Sorapis, and a night at the rifugio on Lagazuoi (a historic WW1 site high on an alpine ridge). We'll head back to Venice for a day and then depart for home, or you may continue on our Italian journey for our "Great Italian Cities Tour."

I've hiked in many mountain ranges, and the Dolomites are very special. These hikes are spectacular yet accessible. It's also the only place I've had a fantastic plate of pasta, followed by apple strudel and a Latte on the trail. The Italians know how to hike. Cortina is also hosting the 2026 Winter Games so the town will be putting on its Sunday Best.

Great Italian Cities

We'll arrive in Venice and spend three nights at a charming hotel on a canal. Venice has a lot of cultural attractions to enjoy, but the real story is the city itself. We'll take time to explore areas and activities away from the crowds. From Venice, we head to Florence for three nights. Again, there is no shortage of "sights to see," and we'll make those attractions available, but the beauty and charm of Florence are also experienced at a slower pace in the quieter streets and piazzas. We'll head back to Venice for one more night and then depart home.
